Senior Clinical Case Manager

Starting Salary from £30,756 rising to £32,745 on successful completion of probation. Full-time (37 hours per week)
Permanent role based in Taunton, Somerset, close to J25 of the M5.

The role

The team provide a single point of contact for our customers to discuss their ongoing treatment as we support them through their treatment journey. We also liaise with healthcare professionals and hospitals to ensure we have the information needed to support these complex medical claims. Our Chief Medical Officer and other Medical Advisers (all practising specialists in the NHS and private sector) are on hand to support the team with complex cases, to ensure our customers can access the very best treatment.

What can you bring to WPA?

Are you a healthcare professional with experience working in the healthcare sector or have a relevant clinical qualification (e.g. undergraduate or postgraduate in life sciences, nursing, paramedic or physiotherapy) or significant clinical experience (e.g. pharmaceutical or theatre technician)

The successful candidate will have a willingness to act as front-line support to our customers via all communication channels, including email and telephone with some of the main aspects of the role including;

  • Being a part of the customer pathway, proactively reviewing the eligibility for the customer to make use of their health policy in line with their policy cover.
  • Signposting where required to enable access to other eligible services.
  • Use clinical skills to make informed decisions on highly complex treatment eligibility e.g. levels of care, hospital length of stay and treatment options.
  • Work proactively with providers to ensure care is appropriate to need and eligible under the customers policy.
  • Maintain up to date and accurate knowledge of current best practice and clinical guidelines.
  • Support front line business areas where there are clinically complex cases to provide clinical case management support.
  • Maintain up to date and accurate knowledge of appropriate WPA products, policies, and initiatives to ensure that all queries are answered accurately.
  • Able to carry out medical research to support claim decisions and ensure current and accurate evidence to support claims advice.
