Q: How do I request Age Rated renewal quotations?

How does my client pay their Shared Responsibility/Excess?

Accepted Answer

Once we have processed the invoice, we will send your client a claim notification confirming the amount we have paid to the provider and the amount they will need to settle directly with them. We will include details of the invoice and contact details for the provider.

Question 2

Can my client send you a cash plan claim online?

Accepted Answer

Your client can make a cash plan claim online by signing in to their secure online account or by downloading the WPA Health app. In some cases, your client may be prompted to download a claim form to send to us along with the original invoices or receipts that need to accompany the claim.

Why does my client have to log into their account to get their emails?

Accepted Answer

At WPA, we handle extremely sensitive personal information, and we may need to communicate with your client via email which could include details of their medical problems. As such, we want to ensure that this information is transferred in the most secure way possible. Their online account provides an extra layer of protection.

Question 4

Why does the claim notification advise 'balance to be paid' when it has already been paid?

Accepted Answer

The claim notification will not consider any payments your client has made to a provider, even if you have submitted a receipted invoice. The purpose of the notification is to provide your client with information on the invoice received, our payments and any shortfalls against the terms of their policy.

Does my client meet your Switch terms?

Depending on their current underwriting your client may be eligible for WPA Switch Underwriting. Please view our 'What is underwriting?' page for more information.

How can I get Personal/family quotes for my clients?

Can my client change their collection date?

Accepted Answer

The collection date will be in or around their join date (or the specific date of the month) and this can't be changed. So, for example, if your client starts their policy on 5 January and pays monthly, their collection date will be on or around the 5th of each month.

When are Age Rated group renewal terms available?

Accepted Answer

Renewal terms are available 6 weeks prior to the group renewal date and will be issued via their preferred method of contact. However, copies can also be retrieved by signing in to your secure area of the WPA website, iZone, WPA's online portal for intermediaries.

Can I track new applications that have been submitted?

The progress of any applications submitted online can be tracked by signing in to your secure area of the WPA website, iZone, WPA's online portal for intermediaries. The 'Application tracker' will allow you to resend or edit the invitation and see whether or not the applicant has submitted it to WPA.

On an Age Rated scheme, what age can child dependants stay on cover until?

Child dependants can remain on cover up to the age of 25, provided they remain unmarried and are living at the family home. After the age of 25, they can remain on cover as an Overage Dependent, however this will incur an additional cost. Please contact us for more details.

How do I get an Age Rated company scheme quotation?

Accepted Answer

If you have an Agency with WPA, simply email your quotation request to us at smequotes@wpa.org.uk detailing the company name and postcode, the start/renewal date, a membership list, benefit and underwriting requirements, where the scheme is currently insured, as well as your current and renewal premiums. Please note, continuation (switch) options are only available to schemes with 10 or more employees on cover. If you do not have a WPA Agency, we are unable to provide you with a quotation at this time.

What information do you need in order to quote for an Age Rated company scheme?

Currently uninsured:
Company postcode, start date, membership list detailing employee age/date of birth and family type (e.g. single, joint, family, one parent), desired benefits/level of cover.

Currently insured with another provider:
Company postcode, renewal date, current insurer, current plan/benefits, current premium, renewal premium, membership list detailing employee age/date of birth and family type (e.g. single, joint, family, one parent), desired benefits/level of cover.

What is your minimum group size?

The minimum group size for currently uninsured schemes is 2 employees, although these 2 must live at separate addresses. For groups looking to transfer and retain existing underwriting, the minimum group size is 2 employees.

Who is eligible to join the company scheme?

Company Scheme Members need to be directly involved in the business, e.g. employed, a director, partner, or proprietor.

Do WPA administer a hospital/consultant list?

WPA operate and firmly believe in a freedom to choose approach meaning that there are no restricted referral networks in place. We believe this gives members the peace of mind that, should they ever need to have treatment, they can have it at a time, place and under the care of a specialist of their choosing. Depending on the cover chosen for you by your employer, some members may not have access to our Premium Hospitals. Please check your level of benefit if you are unsure.

What are WPA's Large Corporate product offerings?

We offer contracts of insurance through our Absolute Health (Fully Insured) and Corporate Deductible products. We also offer Healthcare Trust Administration Services through our wholly owned subsidiary, WPA Protocol PLC, with Aggregate and Specific Stop Loss Insurance contracts through WPA. In addition, we have alternative solutions in the form of WPA LifeStage Health and Digital Health which supports employers with meeting D&I targets and offering healthcare support to their entire workforce.
